[cups.general] cupsd dies on lpadmin -x printername

Inspect the CUPS error_log for details.
Regarding how to get detailed log messages see for example
"If problems are encountered..."

Perhaps corrupted files of the CUPS system (e.g. caused by an update
of the cups RPM packages while the cupsd was active running)
are the reason.
In this case have a look at
and if this doesn't help see
