HP Laserjet 1020

Is there a way to have the HP Laserjet 1020 work under linux?

I have tried with several drivers, but it does not print.

If I look at the kernel messages I receive the following:
usb 1-5: usb timed out on ep0in
drivers/usb/class/usblp.c: usblp0: failed reading printer status

I don't know if it is a usb problem or a cups or only that the driver is missing.
