I`ve a problem with my printer

I`ve a strange problem with my printer. I`ve HP LJ 6L with parallel connection, i`ve tryed that was written in documentation wich comes with cups my PC recognised the printer and status was ok but when i want to print something my HP print one page with strange system parameters and a lot of blank other(with a little tonner dust on them), what may i do to configure it properly. Thanks in advice
