Problem With outputorder

I am having a problem with getting the outputorder option to work with a printer shared through samba.  If I use the cups options field in smb.conf and set it to outputorder=reverse I get this error in my cups error log

If i try printing using lpr from the command line and specify -o outputorder=reverse, the document will print correctly in reverse order.  I have tried using other options in the cups options field such as job-sheets and they work as expected.  Help on this would be very appreciated. My software versions are listed below.

ESP Ghostscript: 8.15.1

OS: FreeBSD 5.4
