Jobs lost (printing from Linux to W2k-PC's)

I'm printing from a Linux-Server to a windows-pc which has attachted an printer on the parallel port. if the pc is up printing does well. if the windows-pc is down the job is queued in the queue. after 5 minutes the job is deleted from the queue. the windows-pc may be down for a few days or for 2 or 3 weeks and the job should not be lost!! i know there is a parameter in cupsd.conf which is set to 300 seconds (5 minutes ;-) ) but is there another possibility to leave the unprinted job in the queue ?
