Hi Helge,

I don't know how to determine the versions of smbspool, but I renamed smbspool from the non working fedora core to smbspool_fedora and copied the older smbspool from my working redhat installation to /usr/bin. The two files are much different in size.

[root at localhost bin]# ls -l smbspool*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 490840 Feb 12 10:56 smbspool
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 734788 Dec 17 22:23 smbspool_fedora

However, doing this had no effect on the problem. I still get the error messsage

"ERRDOS - ERRbadaccess opening remote file Test Page"

In the error.log file, I see the following:

[root at localhost cups]# tail error_log
D [12/Feb/2005:11:25:44 -0500] ReadClient: 9 POST / HTTP/1.1
D [12/Feb/2005:11:25:44 -0500] ProcessIPPRequest: 9 status_code=1
D [12/Feb/2005:11:25:44 -0500] ReadClient: 9 POST / HTTP/1.1

D [12/Feb/2005:11:25:44 -0500] CloseClient: 7
[root at localhost cups]#

I have diff'd the comf files from the old working RH9 installation and the non working Fedora installation, and I can't find any difference.

Thanks for any further attention you can give to this problem.

Regards

Ed
