printing using novell netware 6

Dear everybody,

I have a novell netware 6 envronment at work.  The standard procedure for printing with your own computer is by installing a (window-only) client.  The printer address, as visible in windows, is like

https://server/ipps/printer

I have done quite a large number attempts in oder to get CUPS to talk with the server.  So long without success.  There is always a error -20 in logs.  After issuing lpadmin -p A123 -v https://xxxx:yyyyy@server:443/ipps/HP_LaserJet_1200_C338 I get always something like (in /var/log/cups/error_log):

I have made a symbolic link https -> ipp

This is debian sarge.  I have installed the following cups-related packages:

ii  cupsys                1.1.22-8
ii  cupsys-client         1.1.22-8
ii  cupsys-driver-gimppri 4.2.7-4
ii  cupsys-driver-gimppri 4.2.7-4

The server has open oprts 631, 443 and 23 if that matters.

Can anyone give me a hint?
