Cups page log help

Hi,

I have some doubts reg the cups page log:

1)

samsung riyaz 21 [06/Jan/2005:18:47:47 +0530] 1 1 - localhost

i understand the above line which says riyaz printed to samsung printer one page and one copy. But i dont understand what the line below means

samsung riyaz 20 [06/Jan/2005:17:17:08 +0530] total 0 - localhost


2)
Is the page log generated even if the printer is not responding. e.g if the printer was switched off, will the page log still be generated whenever a print is given?
