UNIX - CUPS won't let my printer use DUPLEX

I have a HP4500DN with 208 MB in the lab.

I can do a print test and get duplex, duplex is turned on,
but when I use CUPs to print I do not get DUPLEX.

Is there an issue with CUPS and DUPLEX?
