This is way overkill for what you want to do, but you
**could** use PyKota (www.librelogiciel.com/software)

This print quota software features its own pre and post-bannering 
facility which is 100% configurable. A realtime banner generator
is included but you can either pipe its output into GhostScript
to generate PCL on-the-fly or use a script of your own, or a static
banner if you happen to like this sort of things.
