Help with HP usb printer + CUPS

I'm having trouble installing an HP USB printer using CUPS.
The printer is an HP psc2175 usb type.
I downloaded, build & installed the driver software from HP (hplip-0.9.3).

Then I tried to install via CUPS web frontend.
All steps were fine, until after choosing the step where one chooses
the Model/Driver. I chose hp psc 2175 foomatic/hpijs (recommend).

Then clicking next I get the error: "client-error-not-authorized"

*NOTE* in the drop down list there is no hplip type driver...
just an hpijs type.

I have no clue what that error *really* means, even after reading the CUPS manual.

I should also mention that I have another printer on the parallel
port which does work via CUPS. It is an HP deskjet 612c, and for it
I installed HP's software hpijs-1.7.1 as the CUPS backend and
this works well.

Anyone know:
- what the CUPS error message means?
- how to get CUPS to work with an HP psc2175?
- what I should be checking to get this to work?

Can post system info, etc if required...

Thanks for any help.
