retrieving device uri of printers

HI i am doing some development on software that is built upon cups. My development requires retrival of printing information of the printers registered and detected by cups. Cups provides function to retrive printer names as well as ppd files based on printer names. I have not yet found an interface that would return other information stored by cups like the device uri in which the printer is currently registered. I was wondering if anyone has found a way to retrieve other detail information about the printer.
