> I have a newly installed Gentoo Linux - kernel 2.6.11. I installed CUPS 1.1.23-r1, gimp-print 4.2.7 and ESP Ghostscript 7.07.1-r8. My printer is an Epson Stylus C62, which worked fine before, on older HW running is much the same setup on Mandrake. I used the web interface to add this printer to CUPS, and I could see the Epson C62 listed in the proper place (A large number of times - why is that, BTW?).

Same problem, same printer here. I solved it typing simply setting up the foomaticdb USE flag in my make.conf file and typing

# emerge foomatic
# emerge -NDv world

Have luck!
