[cups.general] Large jobs sent to external printserver abort

Try direct TCP socket instead of LPD if the printserver-box supports it.

But I don't think you will find lpd backend error messages because
then the lpd backend should exit with non-zero exit code and
the queue would become disabled.

Try to change parallel port settings in the printserver-box.
See the manual of the printserver-box if it is possible and
what you must do to change it.
It is possible that it fails because of parallel port handshake.
