Both servers will look the same (i.e. they will host the same exact print queues). I was thinking that I could copy over some files (/etc/cups/cupsd.conf, /etc/cups/printers.conf, /etc/cups/ppd/*) and restart cups and everything would be fine. Any thoughts from people who have done this?

No other thoughts, but I must confess I've not spent much brain to this
issue
(our print server(s), funning Linux and/or UnixWare, usually run for
months
without any problems).
Maybe CUPS 1.2 will provide better means to define failover
configurations,
as it will provide a feature to "export" or "share" printers to other
servers,
but I haven't looked into the details yet.
