[cups.general] Bad ERROR message from CUPS.

I am trying to run
     system-config-printer
under FC3

When I do, I get the traceback:

Now the Printer Name IS HPLJ4M+, but the string _HPLJ4M+ never appears anywhere
under /etc/cups (not in the cups.config, not in the ppd,- I ran a find ... grep
to check), SO WHAT IS THE REAL COMPLAINT????

And how do I (fix it/get around it) ???
