I have a HP Business Inkjet 1200d conected to a Fedora Core 3 machine.
I have one XP client and 3 Win98 clients.
I created a directory /usr/share/cups/drivers and installed the following:
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 575573 Apr 6 17:53 ADFONTS.MFM
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1295840 Apr 6 17:53 ADOBEPS4.DRV
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 196460 Apr 6 17:53 ADOBEPS4.HLP
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 457600 Apr 6 17:53 ADOBEPS5.DLL
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 135680 Apr 6 17:53 ADOBEPSU.DLL
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 18451 Apr 6 17:53 ADOBEPSU.HLP
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 13492 Apr 6 17:53 DEFPRTR2.PPD
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 118128 Apr 6 17:53 ICONLIB.DLL
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 132608 Apr 6 23:38 ps5ui.dll
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 464384 Apr 6 23:38 pscript5.dll
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 26038 Apr 6 23:38 pscript.hlp
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 792644 Apr 6 23:38 pscript.ntf
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 57344 Apr 6 17:53 PSMON.DLL

After this executed cupsaddsmb.
The XP machine prints great as does the Fedora machine. The Win98 machines sends 2 extra pages. one blank and the other with the following:
ERROR: rangecheck
OFFENDING COMMAND: .installpagedevices

STACK:

-null-
-dictionary-
-savelevel-
/

It doesn't seem to mater what windows application is used to print. The error is always the same.
I understand that I have two sets of drivers here. One that is Adobe that is used for the Win98 and a Cups set that is used by XP. I understand that the cups set will not work with Win98.
Is there a solution to this problem?

Another problem that I am having with the 1200d is that in whatever application I set a left margin, data prints 1/10" to the left of where the margin is set. If for example I go into openoffice and generate a text file and set a page margin at 1". What prints has a page margin of 0.9". I hadn't noticed until I went to print business cards with glabels and the first letter to the left were off the card on both columns. Does anyone have an any ideas on this?
