[cups.general] Problem with Epson print servers and CUPS IPP

Hi,

we have a problem when printing to an Epson Aculaser via CUPS using
IPP. The print job is correctly send to the printer but after printout
it resides on the queue forever. This then blocks the whole queue and
all following jobs remain pending.

We tested this with different versions of CUPS and also with an Epson
Stylus connected to an external (Epson) print server.
When cancelling the already printet job the next job is printed correctly,
then the is queue blocked again.

This seems to be a general problem with Epson print servers and their
implementation of IPP.

Any hints to get worked around this.

p.s. Printing over the LPD protokoll works, but is not a real alternative,
because sometimes communication errors occure which cause CUPS to stop
the printer.
