Hello,
I am stuck with a similar problem (see my recent "connection problem" 
messages) , but in my case I only run cupsd, not lpd. I don't understand 
why you are running _both_ of them, as cups is intended to replace the 
traditional lpd daemon...
Am I wrong somewhere ?
