problems to get my new printer (Brother HL-2040) to print

Hello,

i hope i find the right help here....

i bought a Brother Laser Printer HL-2040 and i have problems to get him to print via cups.

i installed all foomatic files and i got a lot different printer drivers ..i tried all from the Brother list  i also copied the original ppd file from the drivers installation cd into the directory /usr/share/cups/model but cups will not find it....what did i wrong...where is the problem-...or is the printer not functional via cups...please help
