Font weights

Hi,

I'm printing through CUPS on a variety of printers and it works fine. 
But, on the laser (HP 4101MFP), the font is a light weight and kind of 
hard to read. Just using the Courier font as default. I can print the 
same text with a Courier font about the same size through a windows 
application--it uses a heavier weight font.

Do I need to substitute fonts or something? I don't want to make the 
print bigger, just darker.
