Printer is disabled if printing while turned off

I have now managed to set up everything for my printing environment: cups locally, samba, networking with my Windows clients, even printing from the Windows clients works. So after reading all the very high-quality docs everything seems to work ok now technically.

Only one thing still bugs me:

I often start a print-job without checking if the printer is turned on. It is located in a different room. Now everytime I start a print-job (doesn't matter if it is started locally or via the network) while the printer is turned off, the cups-system sets the printer to "disabled" and I have to go to the configuration of the cups-printers and manually start the printer again. I would rather like the printing-system to automatically queue jobs and print them all as soon as the printer is turned on again.

The entry in the logfile looks like this:

Code:

E [31/Jul/2005:18:42:40 +0200] [Job 382] Unable to open USB device "usb://EPSON/Stylus%20CX5400": No such device
E [31/Jul/2005:18:42:40 +0200] PID 7734 stopped with status 1!
I [31/Jul/2005:18:42:40 +0200] Hint: Try setting the LogLevel to "debug" to find out more.
E [31/Jul/2005:18:42:46 +0200] PID 7733 stopped with status 9!
I [31/Jul/2005:18:42:46 +0200] Hint: Try setting the LogLevel to "debug" to find out more.

Can cups be configured somehow to start jobs when the printer becomes available? I couldn't find any discussion related to this and also no documentation for this.

Thanks... Dominik.
