[cups.development] [RFE] STR #1550: CUPS_GET_OPTIONS / CUPS_SET_OPTIONS

I am looking for a way for a printer administration tool to remotely manage
a CUPS server, similarly to the CUPS web interface.  The vast majority of
the functions are surprisingly easy using IPP, but one thing I'd like to
configure is the server's /etc/cups/lpoptions file, to set server-default
queue options.

I haven't found an IPP method for doing this.  It would be great if one
could be added, perhaps something like CUPS_GET_OPTIONS /
CUPS_SET_OPTIONS, taking a queue name and a set of name=value options.

What do you think?
