Pb with Cups with on sparc solaris 10

CUPS 1.1.21 is 2 years old now, and no version specific bugs you may 
run into will ever be fixed for this version.

Can you update to 1.1.23? Or even upgrade to 1.2.2?

Please do also report which driver you're using for which printer
model....

Have you seen http://www.cups.org/cups-help.html ? That may also
contain a few hints applicable to your problem.

In any case: 

 * set "LogLevel debug" in cupsd.conf
 * restart cupsd; print
 * look at /var/log/cups/error_log

are 3 steps that need to be followed to see more closely where a 
failure may occur.
