I still cannot get my Brother HL-1440 to print starting at the top of the imagable area. It still wants to start at the physical top of the page, which means the first .17", or 12 picas, is not printed becase it is in the "unprintable" area of the printer. Cutting off the top of print outs like html pages from mozilla, printing on labels using glabels.

The imageable area is set in the ppd with:

*DefaultImageableArea: Letter
*ImageableArea Letter/Letter: "18 12 594 780"
*ImageableArea Legal/Legal: "18 12 594 996"
*ImageableArea Executive/Executive: "18 12 504 744"
*ImageableArea Statement/Manual: "18 12 378 600"
*ImageableArea A4/A4: "10 12 585 830"
*ImageableArea C5/C5: "18 12 441 637"
*ImageableArea C6/C6: "18 12 305 447"
*ImageableArea DL/DL: "18 12 293 611"
*ImageableArea COM10/Commercial 10: "18 12 279 672"
*ImageableArea Monarch/Monarch Envelope: "18 12 261 528"

And here here is what is printed in error_log:

D [04/Dec/2006:14:51:56 -0500] [Job 395] 0 %%Page: sheet01 1
D [04/Dec/2006:14:51:56 -0500] [Job 395] pw = 576.0, pl = 768.0
D [04/Dec/2006:14:51:56 -0500] [Job 395] PageLeft = 18.0, PageRight = 594.0
D [04/Dec/2006:14:51:56 -0500] [Job 395] PageTop = 780.0, PageBottom = 12.0
D [04/Dec/2006:14:51:56 -0500] [Job 395] PageWidth = 612.0, PageLength = 792.0
D [04/Dec/2006:14:51:56 -0500] [Job 395] 0 %%PageResources: (atend)

So, if it says page bottom is 12 picas up and the page length is 768 picas that equals 780 picas. And, the physical paper is 792 picas, that leaves another 12 picas from the top. It even says PagetTop is 780 picas.

So, why is my printer still printing everything up 12 picas cuuting off the top of the page and scewing up vertical alignment whe printing labels?
