cups printing only graphics in browser

Whenever I print out a webpage, all text is absent and it's only the graphics that are printed. I have an HP DeskJet 5940 postscript printer. Hplip, hplip-data, hpijs, hpijs-ppds have all been installed via apt-get. I'm fairly certain it worked at one point but... no longer.
