Epson PM A850 on FC4/5 issues

I've used an Epson PM A850 printer/scanner with Fedora Core 4, using either the PM-850PT or the PM-970C, I don't remember which, but it quit working on FC5.

I filed a bug on bugzilla several months ago, and recently it was marked as CANTFIX because "There doesn't seem to be a driver for this particular printer."
