client-error-bad-request with some IPP print jobs

I found some more info about this - any time you point a CUPS printer to another CUPS printer, printing to the first printer will break the second one. For example:

 1. Go into your CUPS server, and create a new printer.
 2. Choose IPP, and point it to ipp://localhost/printers/xyz where 'localhost' can also be a remote CUPS server, and 'xyz' is a valid CUPS print queue.
 3. Print a test page to the new printer.
 4. Observe that the test page is printed, and the real CUPS printer has suddenly stopped responding with an error.

(to fix the error you need to cancel the print job that printed successfully, and then start the printer again.)

Does this happen for anyone else?
