[cups.general] Toshiba estudio450 problems

Apologies if this should be on the samba list, but I thought maybe
others would recognize the problems.

I'm trying to setup a Toshiba EStudio 450 print/fax/copier.

I have a Debian stable cups/samba server.

Versions according to apt-cache show are:
Samba v3.0.14a
Cups v1.1.23

I've tried most of the ways in the Samba handbook to add the printer
drivers for point and click driver installation. Nothing seems to work.

When adding the printer it always asks for an .inf file and won't
download the drivers from the samba server. I have other printers setup
without issue.

Does anyone have an idea about what maybe wrong?

Specifics:

Samba knows the drivers are there:
stork:~$ rpcclient -U'username%password' -c 'enumdrivers' ROBIN
[Windows NT x86]
Printer Driver Info 1:
        Driver Name: [Toshiba ES450]

stork:~$ rpcclient -U'username%password' -c 'enumdrivers 3' ROBIN

[Windows NT x86]
Printer Driver Info 3:
        Version: [3]
        Driver Name: [Toshiba ES450]
        Architecture: [Windows NT x86]
        Driver Path: [\\\\ROBIN\print$\W32X86\3\eS4mps.dll]
        Datafile: [\\\\ROBIN\print$\W32X86\3\eS4mps.PDF]
        Configfile: [\\\\ROBIN\print$\W32X86\3\eS4mpsui.dll]
        Helpfile: [\\\\ROBIN\print$\W32X86\3\eS450PS.chm]

        Dependentfiles: [\\\\ROBIN\print$\W32X86\3\eS4mps.XPI]

        Monitorname: [eS4mpsum.dll]
        Defaultdatatype: [eS4mpswm.exe]

and Samba knows it's associated to the correct printer:

$stork:~$ rpcclient -U'username%password' -c 'getdriver "reg-copier" 3'
ROBIN

[Windows NT x86]
Printer Driver Info 3:
        Version: [3]
        Driver Name: [Toshiba ES450]
        Architecture: [Windows NT x86]
        Driver Path: [\\ROBIN\print$\W32X86\3\eS4mps.dll]
        Datafile: [\\ROBIN\print$\W32X86\3\eS4mps.PDF]
        Configfile: [\\ROBIN\print$\W32X86\3\eS4mpsui.dll]
        Helpfile: [\\ROBIN\print$\W32X86\3\eS450PS.chm]

        Dependentfiles: [\\ROBIN\print$\W32X86\3\eS4mps.XPI]

        Monitorname: [eS4mpsum.dll]
        Defaultdatatype: [eS4mpswm.exe]

The Samba print$ share has the files in them:

robin:$> ls W32X86/3
eS450PS.chm
eS4mps.PDF
eS4mps.XPI
eS4mps.dll
eS4mpsui.dll

Now there is a difference between Samba and the W2k3 client we installed
the drivers on in order to get them:

$> rpcclient -U'username%password' -c 'enumdrivers 3' TSERVER1

        Monitorname: []
        Defaultdatatype: []

I had all of those files listed when I set the drivers.

Cheers,
