Some years ago, man pages *were* the documentation, and "other
documentation" should not be used as replacement for the man pages.

Now people say the reverse, and man pages frequently just say "go to
this web site and read" or "this is unmaintained and may not be
correct".

And the time you really need documentation are the times the Internet
connectivitiy is down, or when you don't have access to any web
browser.

I really cannot understand the hostility against man pages.
