The main thing is just the size of the data you'll be converting;
a naive implementation (no compression and just plain hex encoded
image data) will produce rather large PS files...  Also, you'll need
to choose the subsets of the supported CUPS colorspaces, orders, and
bit depths you want to support - supporting them all is non-trivial.
