[cups.general] Test Page

I do not know if I am in the correct Forum with this problem. If not, please 
let me know and i apologize...
When ever I boot up my printer will print a test page.  When I tried to 
configure print manager to see if it was in the settings my printer 
disappeared from the list and I get the message "cannot find a running CUPS" 
After rebooting it appeared again and all was well , except it still prints 
the test page.
