What "things" are blocked by routers? Most do block *broadcasts*. But
BrowsePoll uses TCP/IP connections (usually to port 631 of the polled
CUPS server).

What *exact* settings did you use? What is the output of "ifconfig" 
for you?

No idea what you are talking about. CUPS for sure does not have a
setting.xml file.
