snmp backend causes web admin interface to lock up
--------------------------------------------------

On Solaris 10, sparc, if the snmp backend fails for some reason, it can
cause the Web Administration Interface to lock up, eg. when using 'Add
printer' on the "Add New Printer" screen after entering new printers name,
etc, and pressing 'continue' it locks up on that screen.

The var/log/cups/error_log reports ....

W [22/Jun/2006:00:41:17 +0800] ..
[cups-deviced] Backend "snmp" did not respond within 30 seconds!

I found that if a removed backend/snmp and restarted CUPS that the 'Add
printer' then worked okay.

I retried to get some debug info out of backend/snmp (to help diagnose the
problem) by adding 'DebugLevel 2' to etc/cups/snmp.conf but it didn't seem
to produce any debug output; where is this output supposed to be recorded?

Also see just submitted bug report on 'snmp backend crashes'.
