Seems that GhostScript is failing for some reason. I tried to execute
the very same GhostScript command line manually (test page of CUPS 1.2)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
[root at majax u]# cat /usr/share/cups/data/testprint.ps | gs -q -dBATCH
-dPARANOIDSAFER -dQUIET -dNOPAUSE -sDEVICE=bjc800 -dBitsPerPixel=24
-dProcessColorModel=/DeviceCMYK -sOutputFile=- - > x
[root at majax u]# ls -l x
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 456571 Mar 8 12:31 x
[root at majax u]#
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

and it seems to work correctly. My GhostScript is the current Subversion
state (revision 130).

So please try the following two things and tell which of the two solves
the problem:

1. (the simpler one) Do (as root)

mv foomatic-gswrapper /root/

re-anable your printer and try to print again. Does it work then? If
not, post your error_log again.

2. Install the current Subversion revision 130 of ESP GhostScript. Post
you error_log if it does not help.

   Till
