What exactly do you mean with "landscape layout"?

According to the Adobe PostScript and DSC specifications
"landscape" means that the imaged area (i.e. the bounding box)
is bigger in x-axis dimension than in y-axis dimension.
This has nothing to do in which direction glyphs are set
in the imaged area.
