page width problem with plotter

Hi @all,
I have a good running cups-samba printserver configuration which should
take over our old win nt 4 domain after enough testing.
During this testing I discovered problems with our hp 750c+ A0 plotter.
In our existing Windows setup with the drivers installed locally, we can
print up to 2 meters length.
With the cups printserver and the ppd from linuxprinting.org respective
the ppds from the debian (etch) packages I got problems with the length.
I manually added a new pagesize to the ppd for A0 oversize with 2 meters
length which was available on the client after adding the respective
form to the printserver (my last question).
Now, when I print with this format, the plotter cutsthe page after 1.37
meters, instead of printing further.
Why is that?
Is it a problem of the printserver, cutting the page during conversion
or is it a plotter problem (it works fine from windows)?
How can I find out, I'am thankfull for any hint?
Or do I have to install the driver on the client and create a raw
printer on cups to get this working?
JFYI:
Before I tried the postscript custom page size, with the result that the
plotter only printed a 5 cm long blank piece of paper.
I wish everyone a nice and sunny sunday,
Mario
