how to use load balancing and failsafe operation?

I have over 100 printers and couple of CUPS servers. I'd like to use the load balancing and failsafe operation feature to ensure one server down would not cause the printing not function.

Accoring to the administrator manual, "CUPS clients can automatically merge identical printers on multiple servers into a single implicit class queue. Clients assume that printers with the same name on
multiple servers are in fact the same printer or type of printer being served by multiple machines."

Does it imply that I have to create a printer with the same name on each server, such as LaserJet at serverA, LaserJet at serverB and LaserJet at serverC?

If so, is there a way to copy the list and definition of the printers on server to another? And how do I keep them synchronized if I need to modify the configuration of a printer?
