cups not work

Hi

i have a linux box with red hat ES 3.

config files are the original files.

when start cups the 'lpstat -a' command works 10 -15 seconds later this time the command no respond and the terminal wait forever...

the 'netstat -alnp' reports a connection in a TIME-WAIT state.

i have also remove cups-config-daemon

another simptom is : the gnome graphical interface for define printers no work if cups is running. the WEB interface is unavaliable from localhost or network.

I have another linux box with mandriva and works fine with the same configuration hints.


can anyone help me?

cups version is     cups-1.1.22-0.rc1.9.10
