Forwarding jobs to another queue

Is there a way to forward jobs directly to another queue, in cups 1.1.xx
this worked by using the URI: ipp://127.0.0.1/printers/queuename with
raw type of printer. (probably not the ideal method, but it did work).

With 1.2.0, this stopped working. Had a lot of trouble migrating a
production server to 1.2.0 and eventually had to roll it back, would
rather get as much worked out in advance before I try again.

Though fwiw, 1.2.0 has been working well at home and 1 other location
where previously 1.1.23 was periodically pausing a queue on an epson USB
printer, this hasn't happened with 1.2.0.
