Cups 1.2.1 Test Page Print Problem

I'm fairly new to Linux and the associated issues with some of the software setups.

I'm trying to get CUPS 1.2.1 up and running, I've managed to install the software, and get the web interface up, and have managed to install a printer, however as yet I'm unable to print a test page

Here are some of the details

I'm running Gentoo Linux on a KuroBox-HG

The printer in question is a HP PSC 2179 All-In-One (part of the HP PSC 2170 series)

I've installed the necessary PPD ('HP PSC 2170 Foomatic/hpijs') and have installed Foomatic & HPLIP (which is supposed to include HPIJS)

The printer is ready and accepting jobs, however the test page never actually prints, I've turned on the debugging in the CUPSD.conf, the actual error appears as follows:-

I'm somewhat at a loss as to where to go next
