HP Laserjet 4 Resolution too high?

Hello all,
  I love CUPS, but am having an issue on Ubuntu Desktop Edgy where the default resolution is way too large for the page and the right margin is cut off by 3-4 inches. The margins will come out right if I change the DPI to 75, but then the page is too choppy to read.
 I've followed all of the tutorials for this printer and havn't found anyone with this problem period. I have tried many different drivers (PPD) but no luck. Please help!
