[cups.general] difficulty adding printer in cups.

HI list,
I have two systems with debian etch/sid: system1 and system2. Cups is
working fine in system 1 while its not in system2. I get stuck in the
middle of adding printer. All the cups related packages are exactly same
in both system. I have tried through browser and through
gnome-cups-manager both. Its not problem of any specific printer brand
or driver because it doesn't reaches the step where you select printer
make/manufacturer.

I can add remote-printer from system1 and print without any problem. but
I can't do the same  from system2. But amazingly if I replace /etc/cups
folder with /etc/cups of system 2, the same printer gets added and I can
print. Can some one tell what's happening.

Please suggest.
