difficulty adding printer in cups.

Hi,

I've had a similar problem (using FreeBSD).  I _think_ this problem might be associated with PPD cache (/var/cache/cups on my system).  This cache file may be huge given that you have gimp-print, gutenprint etc.  I believe that the file can be deleted without causing harm and is regenerated when you next add a printer.  You may also have to restart the cups daemon after doing this...
