I'd be surprised, then, to see a CUPS-style URI to access the port on
the router - it should normally be something like
"ipp://ip-address/ipp", assuming that the router even supports IPP.

Does the router show up in an SNMP scan?  Try running:

     /usr/lib/cups/backend/snmp
