Kyocera FS-1000 have no output. no errors.

So it tries to print to /dev/lp0, maybe the printer is not connected? Can
you try the following?

bernd at bathl ~>su -

(reverse-i-search)`pr': source /etc/profile
bathl:~# printf "12345\n\r" >/dev/lp0
