Michael,

I wrote a mail to Bugs-list with this problem, the day 09/22/06 with
subjet "Can´t open spool from windows clients" where i told the same
problem like John.

I use Windows 2003 Server SP1 with last Hot-Fix and actually i have run
both Cups version, 1.1.23 and 1.2.4.
With 1.1.23 i don´t have this problem but with 1.2.3/4 i have the same
problem like John.

I can print jobs with windows printers via ipp
(http://cupsserver/printers/foo) but when i do double clic over the
printer to see printers jobs, the printer can´t see anything. And show
the follow message.
"Failed to open, retyring"

in debug mode, only show this...

D [22/Sep/2006:14:47:20 -0400] cupsdReadClient: 6 POST
/printers/ts-ti-19 HTTP/1.1
D [22/Sep/2006:14:47:20 -0400] cupsdAuthorize: No authentication data
provided.
D [22/Sep/2006:14:47:20 -0400] Get-Printer-Attributes
http://cups/printers/ts-ti-19
D [22/Sep/2006:14:47:20 -0400] cupsdProcessIPPRequest: 6 status_code=0
(successful-ok)

There are some difference between ipp support in 1.1.23 and 1.2.3 or
1.2.4.. i do not test older´s cups versions, like 1.2.0 or later..

But this problem sound that Cups IPP change in some way that windows
could not speak more with cups.

I hope you could fix this problem..

Thanks in Advance

Luciano Giacchetta
