Check your /var/spool/cups. The fuller it gets, the slower CUPs gets. Some versions don't do good housekeeping in this particular area.

Just a shot in the dark not knowing your version.

HTH and have a GREAT day!

Subject: [cups.general] CUPS is slow

Hi,

I've several linux servers with CUPS. All with 50+ networt printers. Since
yesterday CUPS on one of the servers is slow. Printing is very slow and
also the webinterface compared to the other servers.

How can i find out what the problem is? I've used "top" to monitor the
system while accessing CUPS. Cupsd utilizes the CPU (4 dual core CPU's)
with about 15%. I'm pretty clueless ...

TIA
Matthias
