configure osX cups server, linux client

Trying to use a printer connected via usb to a macbook from pc running fedora 6. When I try to print test page cups tries to print to http://brick.local:631/printers/Officejet_5600_series?op=print-test-page
If I edit the url to http://brick:631/printers/Officejet_5600_series?op=print-test-page (delete the "local") everything works. I haven't been able to find where this is being set or how to change it. Any suggestions?
