Have you had a look in your error_log or access_log logfiles?

Ever thought about to update your CUPS version to a more stable
version? I would suggest to run cups-1.2.12, or 1.3.0

BTW: your SUSE Linux is outdated as well. Security updates for 9.0 are
discontinued since quit a long time now. If you need a long time
supported product (around 5 years) think about installation of one of
our Enterprise products, and if you don't have the budget, think of
installation of our free openSUSE products (around 2 years of security
updates, and no support). I wonder that above configuration is running
anyway.
